316L Anti Fingerprint Stainless Steel Watch Parts Electroplating Surface Treatment
Why Choose 316L as the Anti Fingerprint Watch Case?
1. Surface treatment compatibility: mirror polishing and coating
Mirror polishing (Ra ≤ 0.05 μ m)
Through multiple electrolytic polishing processes, micro pores on the metal surface are eliminated, resulting in a surface finish close to glass and significantly reducing the area of fingerprint attachment.
Effect: Fingerprint residue reduced by 70% (compared to mechanical polishing of 304 stainless steel).
PVD coating (such as diamond-like carbon DLC)
The coating thickness is 1-3 μ m, and the surface energy is reduced to 18-22mN/m (about 45mN/m for bare metal), making it difficult for grease to wet and spread.
Effect: Fingerprints are easy to wipe, and the coating hardness reaches HV2000-3000, with a 5-fold increase in scratch resistance.
2. Resistance to sweat corrosion: chemical barrier of molybdenum element
Ingredient advantage: 316L contains 2-3% molybdenum (Mo), which reacts with chloride (Cl ⁻) in sweat to form a dense MoO ₂ passivation film.
Long term stability:After 5 years of daily wear, the corrosion pit depth of 316L case should be ≤ 2 μ m (304 stainless steel generally>10 μ m) to avoid fingerprint accumulation caused by micro roughness.
Why Do We Choose Stainless Steel as the Raw Material for CNC Components?
Stainless steel plays an important role in CNC machining and is a high difficulty but high-value material. Its excellent corrosion resistance, high strength, and high temperature resistance make it suitable for high-end fields such as medical, chemical, and aerospace, while its good processing performance and diverse surface treatments support high-precision manufacturing of complex parts. Despite the difficulty of processing, its durability, reliability, and wide range of application scenarios make it an indispensable material in CNC machining.
Advantages of Stainless steel CNC Machining:
Excellent corrosion resistance:
The corrosion resistance, high strength, high temperature resistance, and hygiene characteristics of stainless steel make it irreplaceable in fields such as chemical, automotive, aerospace, food, and medical industries, making it an important material in CNC machining.
High strength and hardness:
Stainless steel has high mechanical strength and hardness, and can withstand high loads and impacts. In the fields of automotive, aerospace, and construction, stainless steel parts are used to manufacture high-strength structural components and critical parts.
High temperature resistance:
Some stainless steels (such as 310, 316) can still maintain their mechanical properties and corrosion resistance at high temperatures.
Hygiene and Cleanliness:
Stainless steel has a smooth and pore free surface, which is not prone to bacterial growth and is easy to clean and disinfect. Widely used in the fields of food, medicine, and pharmaceuticals to meet strict hygiene standards.
